The process began with research into the McMaster-Carr catalogue, studying different connection and joinery systems. From this, a selection of joint types was abstracted into the form of a cube puzzle.

Each puzzle transforms a mechanical joint into a simple, tactile study that demonstrates its logic. The initial series focused on three specific types: the hinge, the sliding lock, and the sliding pivot.
